Dear Bitunix users,
We are pleased to share an important compliance update. A Bitunix Group entity has completed AUSTRAC registration for independent remittance dealer (IRD) and digital currency exchange (DCE) services, effective 8 January 2026.
This registration reflects our continued focus on strengthening compliance with Australia’s AML/CTF regulatory requirements and our broader global compliance framework.
What AUSTRAC Registration Means
AUSTRAC is Australia’s anti money laundering and counter terrorism financing regulator. AUSTRAC registration means a business is listed on AUSTRAC’s register to provide relevant services, such as remittance services and digital currency exchange (DCE) services, and must meet applicable AML/CTF obligations for those services.
In practical terms, it reflects a compliance-first operating approach, including risk-based controls, monitoring, and reporting processes designed to help detect and deter illicit activity.
Looking ahead, the Bitunix Group plans to progressively support lawful and compliant virtual currency related activities in Australia.
Disclaimer: AUSTRAC registration does not imply endorsement, Licensing or approval by AUSTRAC.
Thank you for your continued support.
Warm regards,
The Bitunix Team
