What are Stock Perpetuals?
Stock Perpetuals are crypto derivative contracts launched by Bitunix. They are priced based on the underlying assets of U.S. equities and settled in USDT. Unlike traditional stock trading, Stock Perpetuals do not involve the purchase or sale of actual shares, nor do they grant holders ownership, voting rights, or dividend entitlements in any underlying securities.
Stock Perpetual contracts allow traders to gain long or short exposure to U.S. stock related assets through leverage, without directly holding the underlying stocks.
Trading Hours
Because Stock Perpetuals reference the prices of underlying U.S. equities, their trading hours are aligned with the trading sessions of the U.S. stock market. Bitunix uses Eastern Time (ET) as the unified time standard and automatically adjusts for daylight saving time and standard time.
Regular Trading Hours
| Session | Time (Eastern Time, ET) |
| Market Open | Monday 04:00 ET |
| Market Close | Friday 20:00 ET |
- Monday to Friday: Users can open and close positions and carry out all trading activities as normal.
- Weekend Closure: The market is closed from Friday 20:00 ET until Monday 04:00 ET.
Statutory Holidays
In addition to regular weekend closures, official New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) holidays are also observed as market holidays. On these holidays, the market remains closed for the full day from 00:00 to 24:00 ET, and reopening is postponed until 04:00 ET on the next trading day.
Please refer to Bitunix official announcements for specific holiday arrangements. The platform will notify users in advance of any relevant holiday schedule adjustments.

Explanation of One-Way Position Mode
During market holidays, when users in one-way position mode place orders:
- Limit orders, market orders, and conditional orders must have the Reduce-Only option enabled and cannot be canceled once placed.
- The system will automatically enforce Reduce-Only mode to prevent users from accidentally opening new positions during the market holiday.
